MIDDLETOWN, CT (WFSB) -

A grassroots effort to remember Aaden Moreno has gained strength on social media.

The 7-month-old was killed in Middletown on Sunday night, allegedly at the hands of his father.

Organizers have asked people to keep their porch lights on Friday night in memory of the baby boy.

The death of baby Aaden was ruled a homicide.

On Thursday, officials said the cause of death was drowning, while the child also had blunt injury of the head.

Middletown police confirmed on Tuesday evening that the body of the 7-month-old boy had been recovered from the Connecticut River in East Haddam.

His father, 21-year-old Tony Moreno, is being accused of throwing the baby over the Arrigoni Bridge on Sunday night, before an attempted suicide.

He is being charged with murder and violating a restraining order.
