For the second time in less than one month, a group of vandals have tossed bricks into car windows in South Windsor.
It was a bad weekend for some residents in the southeast corner of town after they woke up to their car windows smashed in and glass to clean up.
In total, four parked cars were hit on three different streets, and others were hit on Long Hill Road and Gail Lane.
While nothing was taken from any of the cars, people in the neighborhood said they still feel vulnerable.
"I certainly think it's upsetting. I think one needs to be careful,” said Angelo Gesmundo of South Windsor. "We're careful about where we park it but it's disappointing to find out someone hasn't gotten anything better to do than throw stones at windows."
People reported hearing noises just after midnight over the weekend, but the broken windows weren’t seen until the morning.
While the victims are left with the big repair bills, police said they are doing what they can to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
"This is just really senseless criminal mischief...senseless vandalism. We do take it seriously,” said South Windsor Lt. Scott Custer.
"I think it’s terrible. If I saw someone around, I'd call the cops right away,” said Liz Massom of South Windsor.
This isn’t only a problem in South Windsor.
East Hartford police are investigating similar incidents that may be connected.
