A car crashed into a building in Hartford on Saturday after the driver lost control of the car.
At about 1:48 a.m., a Hartford Police officer was parked near Main Street and Mahl Avenue when he has a vehicle speeding on Main Street.
The driver lost control of the car and crashed into the building at 2017 Main St., which is the Masjid Umar Ibn Al Khattab mosque.
According to police, the building collapsed onto the car. The driver was removed from the car by the fire department and was brought to Hartford Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
License and Inspections was notified and responded to evaluate the structures stability after the partial collapse.
The accident is still under investigation.
