Police have identified the two people, including one seriously injured, that were shot outside a nightclub in Hartford's north end early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the Vibz Uptown, which is located at 3155 Main St., around 1:45 a.m.
Officers said two Hartford residents, a 21-year-old Niyah Young and a 36-year-old Jason Dakers, were shot while outside the club.
Police found Young in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound to her right breast. She was taken to Saint Francis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Investigators learned a short time later that Dakers was taken to Saint Francis Hospital “by a private vehicle.”
Dakers had multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and to his limbs, police said.
At Saint Francis Hospital, he rushed into surgery and is listed in critical, but stable condition, according to police.
Members of the Hartford Police Major Crimes, Shooting taskforce and Crime Scene Division are still investigating the shooting.
However, police said they believed that a fight started inside the Vibz Uptown and poured out into the “crowded parking lot.” That’s when police said “an unidentified suspect pulled out a handgun and started shooting at Dakers and accidentally hit Ms. Young.”
No arrests have been made in the case. Police have not released any suspect descriptions at this time. Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to call police at 860-757-4000 or leave anonymous tips by clicking here.
Sunday's shooting is the third in less than one day.
Eyewitness News reached out to the club's management, but has not heard back from them.
