Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has directed all United States and Connecticut flags be flown at half-staff in honor of those killed at a military sites in Tennessee last week.
Four United States Marines and a United States Navy officer were killed after shootings at a military recruiting center and a reserve center in Chattanooga, TN on Thursday morning.
In honor of their lives, Malloy said flags will remain at half-staff through sunset on Tuesday.
“Connecticut and the nation stands with the people of Tennessee and the many communities that have been devastated by this tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims as they are laid to rest – and with the states across the nation who are mourning the loss of their citizens.,” Malloy and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman said in a joint statement on Monday.
