Man arrested for burglarizing Hamden sandwich shop

HAMDEN, CT (WFSB) -

A man was arrested for burglarizing a sandwich shop in Hamden.

Police said Paul Defelice, 40, forced his way into the Subway restaurant on Dixwell Avenue back on April 16.

They said Defelice shattered the glass of a side entrance and stole a coin dispenser that contained an undisclosed amount of money.

Following an investigation, police said they obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect.

Defelice was arrested on July 20. He was in the custody of New Haven police and transported to Hamden.

He was charged with third-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny and second-degree criminal mischief. He was held on a $25,000 bond.

Police said he was scheduled to face a judge in Meriden on Aug. 4.
