A man was charged in connection with the assault of a three-month-old child in Thompson in May.
Nicholas Guarino was charged with risk of injury to a minor, third-degree assault and reckless endangerment on Thursday.
Guarino’s arrest comes after an investigation by the Department of Children and Families and Connecticut State Police. On May 15, troopers were called to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center after a three-month-old child was brought in “with a skull fracture and facial bruising.”
DCF officials started an investigation because it was unclear how the child received those injures. After evidence was collected and interviews were conducted, police said they “determined Nicholas Guarino was involved in the incident.”
Guarino is being held on $25,000 bond. He is expected to be arraigned at Danielson Superior Court on Thursday.
