It has been declared an Early Warning Weather Day because storms this afternoon have the potential of becoming strong across the region.
Meteorologist Mike Cameron said the chance of some sunshine early this afternoon could aid in the firing of heavy showers and thunderstorms in parts of the state. Some of those storms could be strong in nature, packing gusty winds and heavy rainfall.
Cameron said we could see the storms beginning to pop up in the late afternoon to early evening.
The storms will be hit-or-miss, Cameron said, so folks shouldn't necessarily cancel their plans, but they should keep an eye on conditions and check in on forecasts and radar from time to time.
