A Naugatuck woman is being accused of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, with two children in the car.
Police said on Saturday, at about 10:19 p.m., Ruth Pinto allegedly struck a parked car on Spring Street in Naugatuck and continued to drive from the scene.
During the investigation, police said Pinto was under the influence of alcohol while driving.
She also had two children, ages 7 and 9, in the vehicle.
Police said the two children are related to Pinto, however it is unclear how.
She was released on a $1,000 bond and was charged with risk of injury to a child.
The family spoke to Eyewitness News on Monday evening and disputes what police said.
