A Portland man arrested after police say he touched himself at a water park packed with children.
Police said 29-year-old Tyler Bhulai was arrested on Wednesday evening at Lake Compounce in Southington. Bhulai was taken into custody after a park guest saw the suspect exposing and touching himself.
Police said there were about 6,000 people enjoying Lake Compounce when Bhulai was seen sitting on a bench and allegedly touching himself.
"We was in the pool and they took everybody out,” Alberto Rivera, who was park patron on Wednesday evening, said. They didn't give the reason why. I seen some security and stuff like that."
Rivera was at the park with his three children, 8, 10 and 12 years old.
Police said the park guest, who spotted Bhulai alerted security, who called Southington police after witnessing the criminal behavior themselves.
"Wow! That's pretty preposterous,” Rivera said. “If you come to a park like this, have the mentality there's gunna be kid's present. I think it's pretty degrading!"
Bhulai, who officials said is no longer welcome at Lake Compounce, is out on bond. He will face a judge next month.
