A New Britain man was arrested Thursday on an attempted murder charge.
Police said 22-year-old Michael Pacheco-Rodriguez was wanted for shooting a man on Lawlor Street back on June 12.
They said the victim suffered from more than one wound and was transported to a local emergency room for treatment.
The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Police said the shooting was not random and that Pacheco-Rodriguez and the victim knew each other.
Pacheco-Rodriguez was arrested near the intersection of Short and Long Streets as the result of a surveillance operation.
He was charged with one count of criminal attempt to commit murder, one count of first-degree assault and one count of first-degree reckless endangerment.
Pacheco-Rodriguez is being held on a $750,000 bond and is scheduled to face a judge on Friday.
