Connecticut State Police said a cyclist competing in the Niantic Bay Triathlon was injured Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle in East Lyme.
Police did not have a lot of details available but said the biker suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
The Niantic Bay Triathlon is put on by the Hartford Marathon Foundation and includes a half-mile swim, 12-mile loop bike ride and a 3.2 mile run.
WFSB has reached out to the Hartford Marathon Foundation for comment on the accident. We have not heard back at this time.
