The worldly outrage surrounding the hunting death of Cecil the lion in Africa has led one American huntress to speak out.
Sabrina Corgatelli of Idaho has been posting pictures to her own public Facebook page detailing a number of successful hunts in South Africa.
In one of her photos, she’s posing with a giraffe.
“I got a amazing old Giraffe,” she wrote in the photo’s caption. “Such a amazing animal!! I couldn't be any happier!! My emotion after getting him was a feeling I will never forget!”
She also uploaded photos of her posing with a kudu, an impala, a wart hog, a wildebeest and a crocodile.
The posts have attracted tens of thousands of shares and just as many negative comments, including death threats.
“Evil has a face, and it aint pretty,” one poster wrote.
“Why would you feel happy about shooting such a beautiful animal!” another said.
Corgatelli turned to the Bible to defend her actions. She posted a few quotes from Genesis in response to the negativity.
"Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything,” her post said. "Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me."
