Police are investigating after two people were found dead in an East Haven home on Monday night.
Officers were called to a home on Foxon Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. after a relative told police that he was unable to make contact with his family.
Upon arrival, police located a man and woman, who were pronounced dead on the scene, inside the home. Police said it appears the man and woman died from gunshot wounds.
Neighbors told Eyewitness News they heard multiple shots fired. They said a mother and her boyfriend were found dead inside of the home.
“At this time it appears to be an isolated incident and there is no need for residents to be concerned,” police said in a release on Monday.
On Tuesday, Evelyn Delrio and her family gathered outside of the home where her sister was found dead.
"Nothing is going to give me my sister back," Delrio said. "She was like a mom to me, because my mom died when she was 33. Every time we see each other, we give love."
A memorial was growing outside of the home on Tuesday with balloons and candles.
While the names of the victims have not been released by police, Delrio said her sister's name is Ingrid Delrio, who is a mother of three children.
She said her sister was the oldest of seven brothers and sisters and had been with her boyfriend for about 10 years.
Eyewitness News was told the children were not home at the time of the deaths.
East Haven Police Department Detective Division along with the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Unit have an “ongoing” investigation into the incident. Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to police at 203-468-3820.
Police said they expect to release more information during a press conference on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
