Furniture keeps piling up at a Hartford apartment complex and is an issue that was reported last year.
Tenants are fed up but now Eyewitness News found out that it is people who are moving out who aren’t following the rules.
Sofas, mattresses and even a toilet were spotted sitting outside dumpsters at the Concord Hills Apartments in Hartford on Tuesday.
“It's so nasty and it's so unhealthy,” said Jackie Richardson, of Hartford.
Renters said the conditions have been like this for at least four months, and nobody has come to pick up the trash.
Residents said it is the renter’s responsibility to call the landlord if they want furniture removed but instead they are just dumping it near the dumpster.
“They do it at when the owners aren't around,” said renter Ms. Campbell. “So it's not the owners fault, it's the tenants."
One year ago, Eyewitness News reported from the same building where garbage bags were piled to 10 feet high, and the health department even got involved.
The management company said they are constantly taking furniture out of the area and that it comes from tenants who were evicted.
The company said they need to hire a company that will haul away the bulk.
Those who do follow the rules of the building said they just want it cleaned up.
“As much furniture that is dumped here I haven't seen any U-Haul trucks moving in and out so I don't know what is going on,” Campbell said.
The management company said a truck will clean it up by the end of the week.
