One person killed in crash on Route 6 in Coventry

COVENTRY, CT (WFSB) -

Coventry police said a man involved in a serious crash on Route 6 Friday afternoon has died.

The victim was in a vehicle traveling east on Route 6 when it struck an on-coming dump truck.

The driver of the car, identified as 31-year-old Brandon Loura of Glastonbury, was flown by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital where he later died.

The driver of the dump truck, 59-year-old Allen Gaudet Jr. of Broad Brook, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Coventry Police Department and Metro Traffic Services.  Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call the Coventry Police at 860-742-7331.
