GREENWICH, CT (WFSB) -

A man is accused of scamming a Greenwich woman out of over $1 million.

Investigators said Sonny Lee, 59, of Old Tappan, NJ, convinced a 92-year-old woman to donate money to a Christian charity.

However, they said the money was going to Lee to enrich himself.

Lee was the subject of a two week investigation after a complaint was made. An investigators with Bank of America reported unusual banking activity involving Lee and the Greenwich woman.

Investigators said he was charged with one count of theft by deception and one count of money laundering.

He faced a judge on Monday in Bergen County Central Municipal Court in New Jersey.
