Three teens, including two juveniles, were arrested for trying to get into unlocked vehicles in Wolcott.

Police said Jonathan Guillermo, 18, of Waterbury, was charged along with two unidentified 17-year-old boys.

They said the suspects were attempting to enter the vehicles in Forestview Drive and Sky Hill areas around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police said they received a call from a resident on Forestview Drive who noticed that a white sedan had just parked on the street and three occupants, all wearing dark hoodies, were prowling through the neighborhood testing car doors.

Officers immediately responded to the area and found the sedan, which they called a white Dodge Avenger. The vehicle was unoccupied.

According to the caller, the suspects fled toward North Main Street in Waterbury before police arrived.

Police towed the Avenger and traced it back to a home on North Main Street.

During the investigation, police said they received information that the three suspects were in the vicinity of Cemetery Road in Waterbury.

After a brief foot chase, the suspects were detained. One of the juveniles was found to be the owner of the Avenger.

Police said all three were charged with third-degree criminal attempt at burglary, third-degree conspiracy at burglary, sixth-degree criminal attempt at larceny and sixth-degree conspiracy at larceny.

Investigators said at least one of the suspects, as well as a second, were identified as being involved in other burglaries and larcenies from vehicles in town. An arrest warrant for the other incidents is forthcoming.
