A couple of overnight burglaries and an attempted burglary have neighbors are on alert in the Hill Top section of Ansonia.

Police said they happened in the Hilltop Area. Two of the incidents happened on Reservoir Drive and one on Pin Oak Lane.

In one of the cases on Reservoir Drive, a female resident frightened the suspect or suspects away.

The suspect gained entry to the homes through first floor windows, according to police. During the attempted burglary incident, the suspect was foiled by a locked window.

Police believe that the three instances are connected.

They allegedly happened between the hours of 3 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

“This is a very quiet neighborhood and it’s a great place to live,” Charles Wright, of Ansonia, said.

Wright said the incidents are troubling, but could happen anywhere.

“You gotta live in constant, not fear, but awareness,” Wright said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Ansonia Police Department at 203-735-1885.

Police urged people to lock their first floor windows at night.
