Local celebrities were on hand Thursday for the Connecticut Children's Radiothon.

Chaz and AJ from the 99.1 WPLR and 102.9 The Whale radio stations, along with Brad Davis of The Talk of Connecticut began broadcasting live at 5:30 a.m. from the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford.

WFSB meteorologist Scot Haney also lent his support during Eyewitness News This Morning's broadcasts.

The radiothon included inspiring stories, on-air interviews with patients, families and staff, and reflections on the work accomplished each day at the hospital.

Listeners were encouraged to all 1-800-852-KIDS or visit ConnecticutChildrensFoundation.org/radiothon to make a donation. The phone lines will be open until 7 p.m.

Connecticut Children's said that since the radiothon's inception 12 years ago, more than $2 million has been raised for the not-for-profit medical center.
