With a second heat wave looming, cities and towns across the state are opening to help residents get some relief from the hot weather.

Middletown:

  • Russell Library, 123 Broad St., 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Middletown Police Department, 222 Main St, 24 hours per day
  • Middletown building Council Chamber, 245 DeKoven Drive, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Simsbury:

  • The Simsbury Public Library, 725 Hopmeadow Street, Monday - Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
  • Eno Memorial Hall (senior center), 754 Hopmeadow Street, Monday 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m., Tuesday -  Wednesday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Stamford

  • Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd., 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Stamford Fire Department Headquarters, 629 Main St., 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Long Ridge Fire Company 366 Old Long Ridge Rd., 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Ave., Tues - Thurs 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., Fri 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Sat (subject to church activities) 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Chester Addison Community Center, 245 Selleck St., Mon - Fri 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sat 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Jewish Community Center, 1035 Newfield Ave., Tues - Thurs 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Fri 5:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.?, Sat - Sun 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
