ATV rider arrested after neighbor complaints in Newington

NEWINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Following a number of complaints about ATV and motorcycle riding in Newington, police said they made an arrest.

They said they caught Bruno Ignacio, Jr., of South Windsor, when his bike broke down.

Two officers said they saw a pack of ATVs and bikes go by them.

Ignacio’s failed and when that happened, police arrested him in the process of the bike being towed by another rider.

Police said the suspect was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Ignacio was charged with failure to obey traffic control, operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license, no insurance, reckless driving, operating an ATV without a valid registration, interfering with a police officer and breach of peace.

He was held on a $100,000 bond and faced a judge on Monday in New Britain.

Residents have been complaining for days after a group of riders tore through their neighborhoods They said safety was the primary concern as many of the riders ignored street signs, traffic lights and traffic itself.
