A Middletown mother of two accused of drinking to the point of passing out while her children played along a busy street appeared in court on Friday.

Lea Miceli, 34, is facing the same kind of charges she faced in June and July.

Her family said they support her and said Miceli recently lost her mother and is depressed and having health issues.

Miceli’s children, ages 2 and 4, were found on Tryon Street in Middletown running around with nobody watching them.

Police said they found Miceli inside, in a deep sleep and they had to wake her up by hitting her foot.

When she woke up, police said she said “not this again.”

She was investigated in April for leaving the children outside alone, and last October for leaving a child unattended in a car.

The family said the children are with their father.

In court, her lawyer said she is fragile.

Police said the home where Miceli lives isn’t safe and had exposed electrical wires, a wood stove that wasn’t installed right, and front door locks that a child could reach.
