Police have arrested a suspect in the death of a missing mother from Hartford.
Hartford resident Robert Graham, 59, was charged with murder. He had been questioned earlier this week by police for the disappearance and death of 23-year-old Tashuana Jackson.
Police converged on East Harold and Lebanon streets in Hartford on Friday night with a warrant for Graham, who has ties to Springfield, Ma. Police said they did eventually find Graham hiding in the attic of his home there.
Jackson, who is the mother of a 5-year-old boy, went missing on Aug. 4 after she was last seen getting into a car near Keney Park in Hartford. Her body was found on Tuesday in the woods off Granby Street in Bloomfield.
Jackson’s mother, Tasha Fitch, had strong words for whoever was responsible for her death.
“I want all the justice given to him,” she said. “Electric chair give it to him.”
Jackson had a 5-year-old son, who friends and neighbors said they’ll work together now to raise. Her mother said she’s choosing to remember Jackson at her best.
“She loved everybody,” Fitch said.
Bloomfield Police Department said this investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with any information on Jackson’s death and disappearance is asked to call 860-242-5501.
