ANSONIA, CT (WFSB) -

The proceeds from a fundraiser in Ansonia on Saturday night went to the families of two little girls, who tragically died in separate accidents earlier this week.

It was called Rock the Valley and dozens attended the event at Nolan Field in Ansonia.

On Monday, 6-year-old Nyah Marcano was killed in a car crash on Route 8 in Shelton.

On Thursday, 6-year-old Leah Rondon died following a crash on Ford Street. Police said Leah was playing in a red wagon, when it rolled into the street. She was hit by a vehicle, and later died.

At Saturday's event, Eyewitness News had the chance to speak to some of the people in Ansonia.

“We in the valley, we all stick together,” Rich DiCarlo, of Ansonia, said. “And it's a good thing to do, so all the proceeds will go to the girl's families.”

“I went to visit the families and I was heartbroken,” Ansonia Mayor David Cassetti said. “Two little 6-year-old girls, there's gotta be something that we can do here.”

Next week, Ansonia High School is doing what they can to help.

They'll hold a special benefit ziti dinner for both families.
