Firefighters responded to a house fire in Hartford overnight that forced five people from their home and left two firefighters hurt.
They said someone called them about a blaze on Carpenter Street just before midnight on Sunday.
When they arrived, they found heavy fire inside the two and a half story wood frame residence. It was showing the the second floor.
Crews entered the home with hose lines and searched the building.
They said all occupants had left the building before the fire department arrived.
Crews had to leave the building themselves due to zero visibility and heat intensity.
They said they were able to extinguish the flames through their defensive approach.
No one from the home was hurt. However, two firefighters needed to be treated for minor injuries.
The American Red Cross was said to be helping relocate the two families that were forced out by the flames. The families consisted of four adults and one child.
