A 22-year-old man charged in the death of a man at a Manchester motel last year has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter.
Lorenzo Hernandez entered the plea Monday as part of an agreement with prosecutors. He will spend 18 years in prison followed by special parole for seven years.
Hernandez and 40-year-old Benjamin Thibodeau were arrested and charged in the death of 47-year-old Bienvenido Tosado, who was found unconscious on March 25, 2014 in a room at the Manchester Inn.
Police say Hernandez told them the three men were hanging out at a hotel room when Tosado grabbed him below the waist, causing Hernandez to punch him. Thibodeau told police Hernandez allegedly attacked Tosado after the punch.
Thibodeau is still facing felony murder and accessory to murder charges.
