Some severe weather caused damage on Tuesday night throughout parts of Hartford County including in East Granby.
A huge tree fell on a home on North Main Street around 6:30 p.m. There was damage to the residence, but no one reported being injured during the incident.
"You don't realize how tall they are until they fall onto your house," said Cliff Gibson, who is a friend of the homeowner whose tree fell onto her home. "We didn't know if our friend was home yet."
Gibson said nobody was inside of the home except a dog, who was not injured.
The tree appears to have damaged gutters on the home, and while the homeowner said she is happy that the situation didn't turn our worse.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the northern part of Hartford County around 4:45 p.m. It has since been canceled.
