Rock Cats win final game in New Britain

The New Britain Rock Cats have won their final game before moving to Hartford.

On Sunday, the Rock Cats had their last game at New Britain Stadium.

The game started at 1:35 p.m. and thousands of fans were in attendance to see the game.

The team played 15 innings before Jordan Patterson hit a walk-off home run, beating the Portland Sea Dogs 7-5.

The Rock Cats will now move to Hartford and become the Hartford Yard Goats in 2016.

"After 30 years of Rock Cats baseball starting off as the Hardware City Rock Cats, ending as the New Britain Rock Cats, it's certainly been a good long run. We'll miss Rocky, that's for sure, but as of right now he's in the rear view mirror and we're looking forward to the future," said New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart.

Stewart is working on a plan to bring a semi-professional team to New Britain next year.
