HARTFORD, CT (AP) -

State officials say they're continuing to trap mosquitoes that test positive for West Nile virus.

The state Mosquito Management Program warned residents Thursday that the stretch of warm weather provides favorable conditions for the insects, especially at night when they are most active.

This year, mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile Virus have so far been identified in 19 municipalities. There's been a recent uptick in infected mosquitoes in shoreline communities.

No human cases of West Nile Virus infection have been reported this year.

The Connecticut Agriculture Experiment Station, which operates the mosquito management program, maintains 91 mosquito-trapping stations in 72 municipalities.
