Home health aid arrested for stealing money, jewelry from clients

LEDYARD, CT (WFSB) -

Ledyard police have arrested a 25-year-old Norwich woman who stole from several elderly victims while caring for them.

According to police, Aleesha-Lin Wood is a former employee of Visiting Angels Living Assistance Services.

Police said Wood was found to be stealing from a client in Ledyard while caring for them.

During their investigation, police also discovered Wood had stole from several other clients in her care in Groton.

In total, police said Wood stole over $10,000 worth of jewelry, silverware, coins and cash.

Wood was arrested and charged with three-counts of larceny and giving a false statement to police.  She was released on a $10,000 bond and is due to appear in court on September 16.
