HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Hartford Police detectives are investigating the city's 25th homicide that happened Sunday night.

According to police, the shooting happened in the area of 32 Greenfield St., in front of the victim's home, at about 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Police identified the victim as 32-year-old Steve Vorise, who was shot several times and was taken to the hospital before they arrived at the scene.

Vorise suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his face and upper torso.

Debra Case arrived at the Greenfield Street address in a panic, and said she got a phone call saying someone was shot in front of a family member's home.

"We just wanted to make sure everybody here was okay," Case said, adding that her worry quickly turned to relief when she found out her family member was safe.

However, she said she was upset to hear about another deadly shooting.

"I'm just sad that it was a shooting, period," Case added.

A family member of the victim told Eyewitness News that Vorise was her cousin and leaves behind a 7-month-old daughter.

Anyone with information should contact Hartford police.
