Woman killed after being shot at Norwich condo complex

NORWICH, CT (WFSB) -

Police are investigating a shooting in Norwich that left a woman dead.

Police said Dianna Hodgdon, 58, was shot in the torso and pronounced dead shortly after they arrived.

Neighbors said a the heavy police presence was at the Forest View Estates on Forestview Drive.

Officers said the call came in as an "accidental shooting" just after 8 p.m.

During their investigation, police said they determined the case was a homicide and Dianna Hodgdon's husband was the suspect.

James F. Hodgdon, 56, was arrested and charged with murder.

The State Police Major Crimes truck responded to the scene and police tape blocked off a portion of the complex.

Officers were also seen checking around the buildings with flashlights.
