A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person accused in an attempted Rocky Hill bank robbery.
Police said a man walked into the Webster Bank on Cromwell Avenue just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday and waited in line.
Once he got to the teller, he handed the teller an empty bank envelope with a note.
However, his robbery attempt was interrupted by movement at the bank, and he fled with the envelope.
Witnesses told police the man ran north toward Route 160, possibly turning toward Route 3 (Cromwell Avenue).
Police similar incidents have happened in nearby towns.
The man is described as being about 6 feet tall with a scruffy beard/mustache, and wearing a blue t-shirt and tan shorts, a blue cap with the number 10 on it, with an additional signature alongside and Nike brand sneakers.
