Two boaters were rescued off the coast of Old Saybrook Monday morning.
The U.S. Coast Guard said the rescue happened around 8 a.m. in Long Island Sound about 2 nautical miles from land.
Both boaters are in the care of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, according to the Coast Guard.
A ferry boat called the M.S. Shahan II spotted them in distress and was able to call for help.
The boaters were safely pulled from the water.
No other details were released.
