MILFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A man accused of robbing a bank in Milford last month has been arrested in Rhode Island.

Robert Chadronet, 37, of East Providence, was arrested with the help of East Providence police.

They said the suspect is known as the “Teardrop Bandit” from a string of previous bank robberies.

Milford police said Chadronet robbed the People’s United Bank on the Boston Post Road on Aug. 18.

They said he walked in around 4:15 p.m., handed the teller a note claiming he had a weapon and demanded money.

The teller handed Chadronet cash and the suspect fled.

He was eventually found at his home in Rhode Island and extradited to Connecticut.

Chadronet has been charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree larceny.

Police said he’s being held on a $250,000 bond.
