Mosquitoes in Milford have tested positive for West Nile Virus.
Officials said on Wednesday that even though summer is almost over, September is the peak month for West Nile Virus activity in the state.
“We continue to urge everyone to take precautions against mosquito bites and to maintain their properties so that they prevent mosquitoes from breeding,” a press release said.
Residents should minimize time spent outdoors at dusk and dawn, and make sure door and window screens are tight fitting.
