NEWINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Gas prices have fallen to their lowest point since April, according to Gas Buddy.

The fuel report website said three big factors have come into play when it comes to prices like the $2.08 per gallon of regular that was seen at a Citgo on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington.

"Gas prices at this station have been going down for awhile," said Will Gladden of East Hartford. "It seems to be the lowest in the area. I love it."

Gladden said with the prices that low, it's worth the drive from his East Hartford home to Newington.

"My wife and I, we have two cars," he said. "I bring both of them here. It works out."

He's not the only one.

"After work on a Friday this place is packed," said Chris Dombek of Newington. "You can't even get in."

Gas Buddy pointed to crude oil prices being low. That has driven demand down since its after Labor Day. Also, despite it feeling like summer outside, the winter blend of gas can now be sold at stations. That's cheaper to produce.

The $2.08 in Newington is far below the state average of $2.48. However, even the state average is a dollar below what the price was last year.
