High school student hit by vehicle in Waterbury

A teen pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Waterbury Monday morning.

The girl was hit on Meriden Road, according to police.

It happened around 7:30 a.m.

They identified her as a Crosby High School student who had been crossing near 685 Meriden Rd. when she was st ruck by a 2007 Chevy Impala, the driver of which was traveling west.

The teen was walking to a bus stop.

As of later Monday morning, police said she suffered a laceration to her neck and experienced an ankle injury. She was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation continues. Police said the driver has not been charged.
