SHELTON, CT (WFSB) -

School officials said there was an increased police presence at Shelton High School due to a reckless dirt bike rider.

Dr. Beth A. Smith, superintendent of Shelton schools, posted the reason for the patrols on Twitter Tuesday.

She said the biker appeared during the school's dismissal time on Monday.

"Things at SHS are fine," she stressed over Twitter.

There have been no reports of injuries or a suspect.

Police have not said what may have caused the reckless rider's presence.
