A Hartford man is being held on a $1 million bond after police said he shot and killed another man in the capital city last month.
Police arrested 27-year-old Anthony Christiana for the murder of Hartford resident, 32-year-old William Prieto on Aug. 31.
Officers found Prieto suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the area of 52-K South Prospect St. just before midnight. Police pronounced Prieto dead at the scene.
After an investigation by the Hartford Police Major Crimes Unit, Christiana was charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal use of a firearm and conspiracy to commit murder.
Police said the motive for the fatal shooting is believed to be “narcotics/money nexus.”
On Tuesday, Christiana, who has nine previous arrests in Hartford, was picked up by officers on a violation of probation charge.
