On Thursday, officials said five people have tested positive for West Nile Virus.
Four of those people are located in Bridgeport, and the fifth person is located in Shelton.
The beginning of the virus was detected among the individuals between Aug. 16 and Sept. 6.
The patients' ages range between 30 and 74 years old.
No fatalities have been reported at this time.
Residents should minimize time spent outdoors at dusk and dawn, and make sure door and window screens are tight fitting.
