WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Four Waterbury firefighters were taken to the hospital Thursday night after a crash between a fire truck and a Bentley.

Police said the crash happened on Oronoke Road. The fire truck was responding to a report of smoke in a basement at the time of the crash.

Officials said a Bentley was exiting the Country Club of Waterbury when it had a collision with the fire truck, which had emergency lights and sirens going.

The Waterbury fire chief said four crew members were being evaluated at the hospital and are expected to be okay.

It is unclear how many people were in the Bentley, but no injuries were reported.

The fire truck and the vehicle were damaged, fire officials said, and the fire truck landed in the woods following the crash.

Police have a reconstruction team on the scene.

It was a minor smoke situation at the home the fire truck was responding to which was handled by another crew.
