People lined up to get their hands on the new iPhone Friday morning.
At the Westfarms mall in Farmington, hundreds lined up outside of the Apple store for the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
For Kara McQueeney, it was her eighth time waiting in line for an iPhone.
"Feels awesome!" she said. "I didn't activate it yet, but I will when I get home. I got the bigger one. I got the iPhone 6S Plus."
For many, the said it was a love affair that goes back years.
The phones continue to evolve following the release of the first iPhone 6 last year.
Friday was announced as the release day for the latest and greatest version of the smartphone.
Doors opened at Westfarms' Apple store at 8 a.m., mall officials said.
The phone comes in 16GB, 64GB and 126GB storage sizes.
Fans said they were looking forward to a higher resolution camera with a cleaner picture.
According to Apple.com, the regular 6s is 5.44 inches long, 2.64 inches wide and .28 of an inch thick. The 6s Plus is 6.23 inches long, 3.07 inches wide and .29 of an inch thick.
AT&T, another store in the Westfarms mall selling the new phones, said each launch holds its own appeal that keeps customers coming back.
"We're excited about the people being excited for it because that gives us energy," said Brian Riccio, assistant store manager, AT&T.
"I just like the integration with everything else, with the Apple TVs, the iPhones, the iWatch," said David Ledas of Avon. "It's just fascinating to be able to use all these things together."
Buying the phone outright is $650.
