Former Hartford Clerk stole marijuana, pills from police property room

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A former Hartford employee was fired after allegedly stealing marijuana and pills from the Hartford Police property room. 

Liza Aponte, 40, of Hartford was a city clerk who was in charge of overseeing the property room. 

She was hired in January 2015 and was charged with two counts of unlawful removal of records and two counts of second-degree larceny. 

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Aponte on September 21 and she turned herself in two days later. Aponte has a court set bond of $10,000.
