Six Eastern Connecticut State University students were arrested by Willimantic police for what officers said were rowdy parties.
The students ranged in age from 19 to 21. Police said their parties had between 20 and 25 guests who had to be escorted from the scenes on Sunday morning.
The party organizers who were arrested were identified as Samson Amendola, 21, John Maura, 21, Kevin Casasntas, 20, Alexander Obernier, 20, Alexander Fiducia, 20, and 19-year-old Donald Proko.
According to officers, Amendola and Maura live in Ridgewood Road. Casasntas, Obernier, Fiducia and Proko live on Mansfield Road.
Police said their parties lasted until the early morning hours and caused a lot of unwanted commotion and alarm among neighbors.
"The college students have to understand that the taxpayers of the city aren't going to stand for students urinating in their backyards or having drink cups strewn across their lawns," said Sgt. Alex Coriaty, Willimantic police. "We've been working diligently with the administration at Eastern for the past several years and we seem to be on the same page when it comes to the off-campus parties that take place within the city."
Police continued to advise anyone wishing to hold a party to be responsible and hold it during reasonable hours.
