A man remained in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle in Meriden.
Police said they responded to the intersection of West Main Street and North First Street Monday afternoon.
They said they found the 50-year-old victim suffering from a head injury and trauma to his upper torso.
The man was transported to MidState Medical Center and then to Hartford Hospital by the Life Star emergency helicopter.
The driver of the car that was involved, 19-year-old Ismael Ramos, was traveling east on West Main Street when the victim was hit, according to police.
Officers said they interviewed several witnesses at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call Meriden police.
