Hartford woman dies after hit-and-run early Sunday morning

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A woman who was struck by a vehicle in Hartford over the weekend has died.

Police said the woman was identified as 60-year-old Felicita Ayala, of Garden Street in Hartford.

She was struck by a car at a little after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, in the area of 445 Garden St.

Ayala had visible injuries to her head and lower extremities. She was taken to St. Francis Hospital where she was listed in critical condition.

She was pronounced dead on Tuesday morning, just before 1:30 a.m.

Police said a witness stated that Ayala was crossing the road when she was struck by the vehicle, which fled north on Garden Street.

The suspected vehicle is possibly a white or tan SUV.
