MIDDLETOWN, CT (WFSB) -

Route 9 north in New Britain was backed up because of jackknifed tractor trailer Wednesday morning.

The truck closed the off-ramp to exit 28. State police warned drivers to expect delays there as well.

There's no word on injuries or what may have caused the jackknife.

State police said a crash in Middletown caused a backup between exits 11 and 16. However, that scene has since been cleared.

The highway was not closed, but drivers previously reported a sea of brake lights as traffic moved toward the vicinity of the crash.
