The continue rainy, windy conditions is putting a damper on some weekend events.
Showers and rainfall is expected to continue across the state Saturday forcing some events to cancel and others to modify their schedules.
Saturday's schedule Park Road Parade in West Hartford was canceled because of the rainy and cool conditions. Officials said they will not be rescheduling this years parade.
The weather has also forced organizers of the Southington Apple Harvest Festival to postpone Saturday's opening. The festival was originally slated to open at 9 a.m., but will now open at noon. Additionally, the fireworks scheduled for Saturday night have been pushed back to Saturday, Oct. 10.
The weather shortened the festival Friday night as well.
Meteorologist Mike Cameron said the rainfall is expected to continue on and off through the day Saturday. Additionally, temperatures are not expected to moderate very much, which highs topping out somewhere in the mid-50's.
We will see some improvements as the weekend continues, Cameron said, Sunday the rain will end and the clouds may even break come afternoon. However, the winds will stick around and with temperatures in the upper 50's to low 60's it will continue to feel cool.
The windy conditions also forced organizers of the Ansonia Harvest Festival to cancel Saturday's due to safety concerns.
The Berlin Fair is also being held this weekend, however no cancellations or delays have been posted for that event at this time.
